Columbus Diary 1 Sophie

After the project one was assigned, we discussed together about how to make these three words work. All of us contributed with different ideas and made some initial drawings.
When we figured out how to make all these three words expressed by using this fabric, we went into the room and started working to make sure these ideas work.
It was really hard to decide which corner of the room we are going to put our project in. Because of the door that was included in our corner, we felt like the difficulty level had been improved.
Then we also decided that our project is going to be interacted with others. This extended our spaces and made our lives easier.
Finally, we made it. We made our project meets those three words by making this huge piece of fabric into three different levels and we are going to improve it in the following weeks.

  2. It is really interesting that your group is working with the entrance space. It will be the first portion of the instillation that viewers interact with. I'm excited to see how your group ventures further!

  3. I love how you are creating depth with layering the material. It gives off a soft, yet iconic, statement for the entrance of the room, which is really cool. Can't wait to see how it progresses through these next few weeks!

  4. yes--interesting images! I see fabric reacting in really graceful ways to hitting a surface. That last image is especially beautiful in that regard. Doors are important as entrances, so all groups should probably think about what it might or might NOT be...can you rethink what an entrance means for your project?
